​"The Turkmen Manat is a symbol of the country's sustainable development" – a scientific and practical conference under this name, dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the introduction of the national currency - the manat, was held today at the Senagat Joint-Stock Commercial Bank.

The forum was attended by heads and specialists of state and joint-stock commercial banks, the financial and economic system, teachers and students of higher educational institutions and secondary specialized vocational schools, as well as representatives of the media.

The conference agenda includes such topics as the economic successes achieved in our country as a result of the introduction of the manat, the implementation of the national monetary policy, the provision of modern banking services through the introduction of digital technologies, the improvement of the electronic payment system, cooperation with international financial institutions.

On the occasion of the significant date, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to bank employees, which emphasizes that the introduction of the national manat into circulation has created positive opportunities for the harmonious development of the economy, stable monetary turnover and effective implementation of a unified state monetary policy. As the head of Turkmenistan noted, its strategy is to create favorable macroeconomic conditions to ensure the stability of monetary turnover and achieve stable economic development, improve the material well-being of the population, strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy and successfully integrate the banking system into the international financial market.

Today, Turkmenistan is successfully implementing comprehensive national programs for socio-economic development, designed for the medium and long term, – "The rebirth of a new era of a powerful state: The National Program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052", "The Program of the President of Turkmenistan on socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028" and "The National Program of the President of Turkmenistan on the transformation of social and living conditions of the population of villages, towns, cities of etraps and etrap centers for the period up to 2028", "The program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2024."

Within the framework of the measures defined by the State Program for the Development of the Banking System of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030, concrete steps are being taken to introduce new types of banking operations and introduce innovative technologies, improve business process management, develop mortgage lending, transfer financial statements of banks to international standards, improve the skills of employees of the system, etc. The country's banks are working purposefully to further improve the quality of their services, including online banking, implement promising ideas, and reach a new level of service.

As it was emphasized, one of the key aspects of economic development is the intensification of investment activities, ensuring a favorable climate for attracting foreign investment and funds from the domestic business sector, increasing mortgage lending in order to implement major projects of strategic importance.

One of the main indicators of the effectiveness of Turkmenistan's investment policy is the timely fulfillment of its foreign financial obligations. In this regard, the very responsible comprehensive approach of our country to the expansion of international trade cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and trust, in order to realize the investment potential of the Turkmen state, was noted.

As it was emphasized, the ambitious goals set by the Hero Arkadag are now being successfully achieved under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which creates the necessary conditions for increasing investment activity.

It must be said that the successes of the Turkmen state have been repeatedly noted by experts of reputable financial structures.

The forum participants were unanimous in the opinion that constructive dialogue and joint search for effective ways of cooperation, primarily in the economic sphere, are the basis for the development of mutually beneficial relations between our country and all interested partners in the international arena, including with large financial structures.

In the context of personnel training for the banking industry, it was noted that all opportunities are being created in Turkmenistan to provide the younger generation with modern education and training of future economists.

Speaking about the promising tasks facing employees in this field today, the forum participants stressed that the key focus here is further ensuring the effective turnover of the Turkmen manat as a means of payment, studying the experience of the world's largest banks, introducing modern management methods in the financial sector, etc.

At the end of the scientific and practical conference, its participants accepted a letter of thanks to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

On the occasion of the significant date, an exposition was opened in the lobby of the Senagat Joint-Stock Commercial Bank, which presents commemorative coins made of precious metals issued during the years of independence, as well as various original national jewelry.
