A solemn event was held at Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishchev with the participation of the Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan), Gadam Ilamanov. The meeting was dedicated to the motto of 2026: «Independent Neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful heavenly horses».

The event brought together university administration, faculty, and students from Turkmenistan studying at the university.

In his speech, the Consul highlighted two key factors for successful cooperation: respect for folk traditions and the creative energy of youth. He emphasized that it is important not only to receive a high-quality education but also to remember one's roots, thereby strengthening friendly ties between Turkmenistan and Russia.

In accordance with the resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the legendary Akhal-Teke horses have been officially proclaimed the symbol of this year's motto. This national treasure embodies the historical pride of the people, as well as the modern vector of the country's development—its sovereignty and high rates of creative progress.

The meeting concluded with a vibrant cultural program showcasing Turkmen traditions. Guests were treated to creative performances demonstrating the richness of national music and dance compositions. Students recited works about the Motherland and the "heavenly" horses, and a thematic exhibition allowed attendees to familiarize themselves with decorative and applied arts.

It should be noted that such events play an important role in the integration of international students, turning the university into a living platform for humanitarian dialogue. Today, ASU is a strategic partner in the field of education. Over 3,070 citizens of Turkmenistan study here, confirming the university's high status as a key training center and a force for strengthening friendship between our countries.

Also on this day, the Consul held a meeting with Turkmen students studying at the university. The conversation was held in a spirit of mentorship and patriotism. The Consul reminded students of the importance of complying with the law and encouraged them to be active in the university's cultural and sports life.
