The Delegation of Turkmenistan Continued Participation in Thematic Sessions and Bilateral Meetings at Education World Forum 2026
The Delegation of Turkmenistan Continued Participation in Thematic Sessions and Bilateral Meetings at Education World Forum 2026
1005 |
20 May 2026 y.

As part of the Education World Forum 2026, the delegation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan continued participating in thematic sessions, expert discussions, and bilateral meetings with international organizations and companies working in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, management of educational reforms, teacher development, and evaluation of the effectiveness of educational technologies.

Particular attention during the forum was devoted to issues of evidence-based decision-making and accountability in education. One of the sessions focused on approaches enabling education systems to assess the effectiveness of digital solutions not only by the fact of their implementation or the number of users, but also by their actual impact on learning outcomes. It was emphasized that modern platforms should help ministries and educational institutions answer a key management question: which digital tools genuinely improve learning outcomes and which require revision or optimization. This approach is aligned with the work being carried out in Turkmenistan on the development of digital platforms, analytics of attendance, academic performance, workload, individual learning trajectories, and management dashboards for data-driven decision-making.

During the bilateral meeting with representatives of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the parties discussed the application of modern project management methodologies within the education system. The Turkmen side presented long-term educational strategies and the management architecture for their implementation through project management offices, portfolio management, roadmaps, responsibility matrices, performance indicators, risk assessment, and regular monitoring of results. Particular attention was given to the possibility of applying international PMI approaches to improve the management of educational reforms, digital projects, vocational education modernization programs, and the introduction of new quality assurance instruments.

Representatives of OpenAI demonstrated opportunities for the application of AI tools to support teachers, students, researchers, and management teams through the specially developed ChatGPT EDU version. The discussion covered issues related to preparing educators for the use of artificial intelligence, developing internal regulations for AI implementation in educational institutions, data protection, academic integrity, and the creation of a controlled environment for piloting such solutions. As a practical follow-up, the parties discussed the possibility of exchanging information on available educational products, learning resources, and safe pilot implementation formats.

During the meeting with Education Development Trust, the parties discussed the transition from strategic planning to the practical implementation of reforms. The main focus was placed on teacher development, school leadership, mechanisms for improving education quality, change management, and strengthening institutional accountability. The Turkmen side expressed interest in approaches that help transform national education strategies into concrete action programs, measurable indicators, professional school support systems, and sustainable models for improving teaching quality.

Meetings were also held with representatives of Effecta and Matific, during which opportunities for applying digital and AI-based tools for personalized learning in English language teaching and mathematics respectively were discussed. Based on artificial intelligence, these systems perform the function of a personal tutor: helping students master material at an individual pace, identifying knowledge gaps, proposing additional tasks, and providing teachers with analytical data on each student’s progress.

Following the meetings, practical and phased areas for further cooperation were identified. These include technical online consultations, exchange of methodological materials, exploration of opportunities for small-scale pilot projects, designation of focal points, preparation of specialist training proposals, and development of realistic roadmaps for cooperation in specific areas.

The participation of the delegation of Turkmenistan in thematic sessions and bilateral meetings confirmed the strong interest of international partners in the work being carried out in the country on the digital transformation of education, the development of analytical tools, the introduction of artificial intelligence, the improvement of teaching quality, and the strengthening of the management capacity of the education system.
